Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 24, 2026
Duebird("we", "us") is invoicing and payment reminder software for freelancers and small service businesses. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we use it, and how we protect it. We follow Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).
What we collect
Depending on how you use Duebird, we may collect:
- Your account details — such as your name and email address when you sign up.
- Client details you enter— such as your clients' names and email addresses, so we can send invoices and reminders on your behalf.
- Invoice and payment details — such as line items, amounts, due dates, and whether an invoice is paid.
- Basic technical information — such as session data so you stay signed in, and ordinary logs that help us keep the service secure and running.
Why we collect it
We use this information to:
- Create and run your account
- Create and send invoices
- Help collect payments through our payment partner
- Send automatic payment reminders
- Respond to support and privacy requests
- Keep the service secure and improve how it works
We do not sell your personal information.
Where your data lives
Your account and invoice data is stored in a cloud database in Canada (hosted by Supabase in the Canada region).
To run the product we also use trusted service providers that process data on our behalf:
- Stripe — payment processing (may process data in the United States)
- Resend — sending transactional email such as invoices, reminders, and account messages (may process data in the United States)
These companies only get what they need to provide their service. We choose providers that offer appropriate contractual and security protections.
When information leaves Canada
Because Stripe and Resend may process information in the United States, some personal information can be subject to U.S. laws while it is handled there. By using Duebird, you understand that this may happen. We take reasonable steps so our providers protect personal information appropriately.
How long we keep it
We keep account and invoice information while your account is active. After that, we may keep it for a reasonable time for legal, accounting, or dispute-resolution reasons. You can ask us to delete your account data (see below).
Your choices and rights
Subject to legal limits, you may ask us to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Correct information that is inaccurate
- Delete your account data
Email [email protected] for privacy requests. We may need to confirm it is you before making changes.
Security
We use industry-standard measures appropriate for a service like ours — including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and access controls — to help protect personal information. No online service can guarantee perfect security, but we work to reduce risk.
Changes to this policy
We may update this page from time to time. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of Duebird after a change means you accept the updated policy.
